Umebijin Shuzo
Enjoy tasting of sakes and liqueurs (made from citrus fruits produced locally) in the heritage brewery with brick chimney.
The first thing you will notice when you visit Umebijin shuzo is a towering chimney. The height of the chimney is 23 meters. It was built in commemoration of the Showa emperor’s ceremony in 1928. This chimney has been a landmark in this area ever since. Several buildings at our brewery are registered as tangible cultural heritage properties, including the office which was built in 1933 influenced at the time by western architecture. Using traditional sake-making techniques Ikata Toji produces a clean and refreshing sake in this historical brewery.
